Rap while you shout about the environment

300px-the_earth_seen_from_apollo_17

We're supporting 'Shout about' - Friends of the Earth's annual activity week (2-6 March), this year focussed on finding solutions to climate change with your local community.

This week's KS2-3 featured lesson includes:

  • Your Planet - written for us and Friends of the Earth by Max Wheeler of Dirty Diggas fame, this rap encourages children to think about the importance of protecting the environment
  • Binman - a cartoon that deals with the challenges of recycling in an engaging, entertaining and memorable way
  • Rap the Gap - great warm up resource to get the hang of placing words to a beat. The children could try writing their own raps about the importance of community action
  • Making beats remixer - an interactive mixer to learn the basics of choosing sounds, mixing levels and recording arrangements

Access these resources now or view more curriculum-based Hip Hop resources. You can also view more Binman resources, find out more about Friends of the Earth Shout About campaign or download the free Friends of the Earth Recycling poster.
